Great post! Our son is a few days a way from six months, and for me, it's a constant conflict between missing the early weeks and months and enjoying the present. At the same time, I sometimes find myself looking forward to the days when he can walk and talk.

Our son does the standing thing too, and he's almost able to sit up on his own. He made it about five seconds today before he toppled over. I sometimes think he might skip crawling altogether, based on his current leg strength.

Thanks for writing about your experiences. It's great to be able to compare notes with other new parents.
