Is It Already Bedtime ?

I know time passes to quickly, but I’ve only just realized how fast it flies by.

Allow me to quote my wife (Mama):

He is growing fast… very fast. Now I know that it is completely true when people say that childhood passes very quickly. It seems like yesterday when I held him in my arms for the first time. And now he is almost three months old……He has started babbling in his own language (which is the cutest ever), smiling, recognising voices and faces and playing with toys. Every day he seems to learn new skill.

Now my wife is not working, so she is blessed with fulltime child management. I on the other hand, have to go to work. After 9 hours of work I come home and try to manage the remaining tasks such as construction work (we just recently bought our house, so I’m doing loads of construction work), workout, various other projects, and various administrative tasks. So in conclusion: I don’t get much time with my son.

I feel I might (or am) missing some precious moments.

Now I know what you are thinking, if there is not enough time in a day, then I just need to rearrange my priorities. That’s easier said than done. Tasks needs to get done, otherwise they’ll just pile up.

I’ve realised, in total I spend about 10-30 minutes with my son during week days. In the weekends I have a bit more time, so it’s like 30-60 minutes.

Doesn’t sound right, does it ? Will this affect my relationship with him ? What damage will it do if I continue like this ?

So many questions and the answer seems simple: rearrange priorities.

What’s more important, work or family ? tasks or relations ?

One of the things that makes me prioritize my work is economy. We’ve just bought our house and I fear our economy will suffer as I’m the only parent working. But chasing money seems to have moved me further from my son.

Not much structure in my post, just a bunch of thoughts. I’ll let you know if I manage to improve my situation.

Ideas from experienced fathers/parents are appreciated as always.
