First Year Milistones - Our Son - Checklist

As our son approaches his nine months (currently 8 and a half) I thought I would go through the “9th Month Development Milestones” posted earlier.

  • Look for toys that have moved out of sight
CHECK (when I try to hide the remote/mobile phone from him)
  • Become upset when you say good-bye and leave
CHECK (when I leave for work)
  • Try to imitate your words by babbling
    PENDING
  • Move more independently, learning to crawl and/or pull up
CHECK (can pull himself up and stand by holding onto something)
  • Begin to manipulate and understand how objects work
DUNNO (can’t think of anything in particular)

Warning Signs:

If any of these statements apply to your model after the first nine months, it is recommended that you contact the baby’s service provider (the doctor) :
  • The baby “drags” one side of its body when crawling
CHECK (he doesn’t crawl, he’ll skip straight to walking).
  • The baby does not “babble” in response to complex tones
CHECK (his vocabulary in babyish is excellent).
